Hi lovely guild! 🌟 Here comes some important information regarding Teknikfokus, our career fair that we organize together with the E-guild, so please take a moment to read through this:

Over the past few years, Teknikfokus has been performing worse and worse, which has significantly affected the guild’s finances since the fair has been our largest source of income. Overall, fewer companies want to participate in the fair, partly due to the general economic situation and the economic downturn affecting many companies. At the same time, we see that similar fairs at other guilds around the country have not been affected to the same extent; they continue to attract companies and generate significantly larger revenues for their guilds than we do. In other words, this is not only about the economic situation - it is also about the attractiveness of the fair and its brand.

After many discussions within the board, with our auditors, members of the fair’s project group, and former board members, we have come to the conclusion that the current setup is not sustainable in the long run. For the guild’s financial stability, we need to make changes, and therefore we have decided to withdraw from the Teknikfokus agreement with the E-guild. Instead, we plan to organize our own career fair next spring, which we will manage ourselves, with a new concept, a new brand, and new opportunities to attract companies. The goal is to create a fair that is more rewarding for all members, provides financial stability, and creates better conditions for the guild in the long term.

We in the board understand that this may come as a shock to many of you and that there may be both questions and thoughts about the decision. Therefore, on Monday 23/3, we will be sitting in the board room during lunch to answer any questions you may have and explain our reasoning in more detail. To make this possible, we will also need to make some changes to our governing documents during VTM, and of course you are also welcome to attend the guild meeting and make your voice heard there. The proposition, together with a name proposal for the new fair, will be released along with the rest of the meeting documents on Monday 23/3 (one week before VTM).
